The most common scholarship source is from the university where you applied.

Universities provide MERIT BASED scholarship.

These awards are based on a student’s academic, artistic, athletic or other abilities, and often factor in an applicant’s extracurricular activities and community service record.

Overseas education undoubtedly requires hefty amount to be invested. Education abroad however comes with prominent promise that it would provide you tremendous opportunities to recover the same. Return on Investment ratio is very high. A lot of universities, charity organization or third party give away scholarships for this purpose. Scholarships are awarded on various criteria, which usually reflect the values and purposes of the donor or founder of the award. Scholarship money is not required to be repaid.

Most such merit-based scholarships are paid directly by the institution the student attends, rather than issued directly to the student.

Thus to receive scholarship the student profile should be very sharp in all aspects. They look at an overall personality and provide that candidate with necessary financial aid. Some universities have separate procedure with specific essays and forms for all who desire to receive scholarship. Where as some universities receive all the applications and one who tops in all aspects among all the other applicants that year is chosen.
