Career Options After Bachelor of Arts
The current generation is willing to pursue an undergraduate degree in arts as they are aware that it includes creative arts, linguistics, media, journalism which is the knowledge of the modern world and employment. People have always underestimated the ones who hold an Arts degree. But the students who graduate with an Arts degree have a wider perspective and logic in their expression. They have a deeper imagination, good at evaluating people’s attributes, ability to develop critical analysis skills, research, assess and hold discussions at par with those who hold a science or commerce degree.
The arts programs are very different from what a non arts degree program. In Arts, rather than studying in the classrooms there is a concept of practical labs, workshops, greenscreens which provide the students with hands-on experience. This helps the students to get ready for jobs once they graduate and understand the area of interest. They step out in the real world with a better clarity and they know the path they have to take rather than be super confused on what to pursue.
In present times many universities around the world have emphasized on math and has become a requirement for art programs. The students who do not meet this criteria, have to take up an entrance math test or a placement test in math to secure a place in the program of the university. This shows that math or statistics have become an integral part of the arts. This is how students with an arts background can crack interviews for organizations such as Amazon, IBM, and Google. As Arts students are proficient in most of the domains, they can apply for jobs in varied fields. When it comes to careers after bachelor of Arts, a graduate can apply for jobs catering to their specialization. Eg creative arts students can become an actor, theater artist or can apply to become a content writer, scriptwriter or stage manager if they are good in writing and managerial skills.
While a linguistic specialist student can opt for jobs as a translator, teacher, copy or editor but also apply for a marketing executive jobs or a public relation office jobs. A photography or landscape design major can apply for jobs as cinematographer or apply for a job as an architect assistant, or in social media or in video photography. Dance majors can apply to become choreographers, performers, a digital dance specialist ( which teaches dance all over the world using social media or online platforms) or a degree in hospitality can fetch you a job in the airline industry or a travel & tour company that allows you to travel the world.
Arts even has a technical side which includes VFX, graphic design, 3D animation and visual communication. These have become prominent fields in today’s world. VFX, Graphic Design and Animation have become a necessity in the TV and Film Industry. Today we cannot imagine movies without either. The students who graduate with these majors not only can apply for jobs in the TV or Film industry but also the Information Technology Field (IT) as they require highly efficient Graphic designers to design and analyze applications or build an audience, attractive website or create animated objects for the betterment of the field and industry.
When we think about high salary paying jobs, we always think about the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) field or the business field. It’s not the STEM field that provides high salary paying jobs but also Arts graduates if they are properly guided and shown the right path.
